International students study in US will face the annual US tax reporting season. The deadline for filing tax returns is usually in April (4/15) of each year. It is recommended that you check the Internet and strongly recommend that you file your taxes in February.

The most common way for US students to file taxes is to use the Free File system. Usually, schools provide Glacier Tax Prep (available from NYU ) for US students . For federal and state taxes, you can consider Turbo Tax or Sprintax (NYU students). There are discounts). If you are not a U.S. citizen or Resident Alien, you must mail the documents generated by the system to the IRS (Internal Revenu Service) !!

Most of the work will be based on W4 you fill out, withholding tax ( Tax Withholding ) in advance, so the usually received income is called Net Pay ( Take Home Pay ).

Although there are many steps to file a tax return, as long as you follow the steps step by step, you can successfully generate tax refund documents. This article will mention 5 common problems for foreign students to report tax and will take the federal tax refund process once. The state tax process goes through once to help you get started with your first US tax return.

Let’s make the tax reporting process smoother! Jack takes your tax return
